Love for GR

It has been over 3 months since I bought the Ricoh GR and GR1S, and unlike most other cameras I have owned, it's really been a no-regret kind of relationship between me and the GR.

I don't think I need to elaborate more on the cameras themselves. They are the GR. What makes them special, I believe, are the innate simplicity and utilitarian design that's inherited all the way from film to the digial age.

The only gripe I have with the digital GR is not that it doesn't have a full-frame sensor, because I'm actually fine with it having an APS-C sized sensor if it means to limit the size and weight of the body. I find it funny, using my GR and GR1S alongside each other very often, that I can sometimes hit the OVF-less digital GR in my face because I thought I needed to look into the viewfinder like when I use the GR1S.

That's it. I have no other complaints.

The GR lens is razor-sharp and has awesome tonality. It's not at all like many modern lenses that has super punchy colors. Incredibly, even in the digital age, GR still keeps its cool, dead-neutral look inherited from the very first GR1. I am a huge fan of this documentary-like look.

Pairing these qualities of the lens with B&W can produce some stunning results. It's just really F%CKING AWESOME.

Maybe one day we will see a full-frame Ricoh GR (?)
